Instantly Take Your Hair From Beautiful To Stunning The Summer With Hair Extensions

Hair extensions are quickly becoming a beauty staple that allows you to achieve many hairstyles that would not be possible without them. Hair extensions have long been thought of as a luxury, but we’re here today to show you why they are actually necessary to have in your bag of beauty tricks. Most people think only of longer locks when they hear someone mention hair extensions, but many more benefits will instantly take your hair from beautiful to stunning this summer.

Hair Extension Benefits

Increased Thickness and Volume- It’s a well-known fact that hair extensions give you longer locks, but they don’t have to. Even if you don’t want longer hair you can still use extensions to increase the thickness and volume of your mane. They can be used to fill in thin spots or give your tresses an overall boost.

Shorter Styling Times- Those born with naturally fine or limp hair know the struggle of spending hours in front of a mirror attempting to create the right amount of lift or volume for a cute hairstyle that you’re just dying to try. Hair extensions cut down on that styling time by giving you what nature didn’t. Extensions will end your fight with your hair and let you get back to enjoying life with beautiful voluptuous hairstyles in minutes instead of hours.

Experiment Without Damage- If you’re tired of wearing the same old hairstyle but fearful of damaging your hair if you try something new, fear no more! Hair extensions will allow you to experiment without fear of damage. You can try new lengths, thicknesses, and even colors without altering your natural hair.

End Haircut Regret- Everyone has had a haircut that they weren’t completely happy with at least one time in their life. It’s very disheartening to have your stylist turn the chair around and find that they didn’t understand what it was that you wanted. And who has time to wait for it to grow back out again? With the help of hair extensions, you can get your hair back to a more desirable length right away and end that regret.

Glam It Up For Special Occasions- There are some occasions when we want to look particularly glamorous and nothing can help you glam it up faster than hair extensions can. The extra length and volume they provide give your styles an amazing wow factor. They also open up a world of possibilities when it comes to hairstyles. Brides find extensions especially helpful in creating magnificent bridal hairstyles.

Caring For Hair Extensions In Summer

Summer beach vacations and lounging around the pool are a lot of fun and so relaxing, but these activities can take a toll on your hair and extensions if you don’t have a good summer hair care routine to prevent damage from all of the chemicals and UV rays. Here are a few tips to help you take great care of your hair and extensions this summer.

Avoid Over-Shampooing- You need to keep your hair and extensions clean, but it’s important to not over-shampoo because it strips away the natural oils that your scalp produces to nourish and protect your strands leaving your tresses dry and brittle. Shampooing your hair 1-3 times per week with a high-quality sulfate-free shampoo like Pureology or Redken should be all you need to keep everything clean, soft, and beautiful. Always follow with conditioner every time you shampoo and add a deep conditioning treatment to your regimen every 1-2 weeks according to your Knot Salon stylist’s recommendations.

Handle Wet Hair With Care- When your hair is wet both your natural strands and your extension bonds are at their most fragile so handle it with care. And if you’re swimming you’ll need to take some extra precautions to protect your hair and extensions. Start by drenching your hair with fresh cool water and apply Redken Leave-In Conditioner. Now that your hair is saturated it won’t be able to absorb as much salt water or pool chemicals. Be sure to rinse it well and apply more conditioner after taking a dip to remove anything harmful on the surface. Alternatively, you can keep your hair up in a bun and out of the water or wear a protective swim cap.

Protect From UV Damage- UV rays are just as damaging to your extensions as they are to your own hair. To protect them when heading outdoors put on a cute wide-brimmed hat to shade your lovely locks from the sun. When wearing a hat isn’t practical, putting your hair up will minimize UV exposure and you can also apply a sunscreen that is specially formulated for hair to protect them even further.

Extensions At Knot Salon

Here at Knot Salon, we offer different types of extensions to meet your needs, and we offer only brands you can trust for the absolute best quality extensions out there- Hair Dreams, Great Lengths, Bellami, and Hair Lingerie.

Tape-in-  These extensions come in wefts that are attached at the base of your hair with medical-grade adhesive tape. Tape-ins last for about 6-8 weeks, at which time you can come into the salon for a refit.

Hand-tied- These extension wefts are literally tied by hand and attached to your hair without the use of heat, chemicals, tape, or glue. They lay flatter and produce a more natural look than other types of extensions. These extensions will also need to be refitted about every 6-8 weeks.

Keratin bond- These are small groups of hairs attached to a keratin bead that is fused to your natural hair. Keratin extensions offer a longer wear time and will need to be refitted approximately every 8-12 weeks.

Hair extensions can be treated just like your natural hair for the most part. With just a few precautions and special care your extensions will last for months giving you an entire summer of simply stunning hair. Request a consultation online or give us a call at (817) 471-7868 to make an appointment with Kylie Phillippi Hair and we will help you choose the perfect extensions to meet your hair goals and needs.
